Eid al-Adha Eve Family Dinner — The Last Calm Evening Before the Feast
TL;DR: The eve is the last calm table before the rush of the feast begins. A spacious, alcohol-free hall in Yeşilköy. Book: +90 534 423 84 49.
The eve of Eid al-Adha is a different day from the feast itself. The following morning brings the sacrifice, the sharing of meat, visits to neighbours and relatives. The eve, by contrast, is the last calm evening before all of that. Guests arriving from other cities reach Istanbul that day, the family assembles — but the rush has not yet begun. Mahsun Usta hosts that evening at the historic Yeşilköy Train Station, built in 1871. The Last Quiet Table Before the Feast Cooking on the eve is difficult in most homes: the kitchen is being made ready for the next day, the fridge emptied, the guest rooms arranged. Eating out on this particular evening is both practical and meaningful — the family gathers once, calmly, before the feast takes over. For Guests Arriving from Out of Town Meeting relatives who arrive in Istanbul on the eve is common. We are within walking distance of the Marmaray Yeşilköy stop and offer free parking, and the airport connection is close by. Guests coming off a long journey can be welcomed straight to the table. What Comes to the Table Wood fire is at the centre of the kitchen: dry-aged ribeye and premium cuts, lamb chops grilled over wood, yaprak kebab and sac kavurma. Lamb tandır, rested for six hours in the earth oven, is the sharing dish for large tables. Mezes such as haydari, spicy ezme and smoked aubergine open the meal; künefe and Antep baklava close it. Service runs until 23:00. Open on the Feast Days Too After the eve we serve throughout the four days of the feast. Breakfast on the morning of Eid runs from 09:00 to 14:00: 1,450₺ per person on weekdays and 1,600₺ on weekends and public holidays, with the feast days falling under the public holiday rate. Children aged 0-5 eat free and ages 5-10 are half price. Alcohol-Free, Halal and Built for a Crowd Mahsun Usta is 100% halal and entirely alcohol-free. Our partitioned, airy hall seats family tables of fifteen to twenty with ease. We hold a 4.6 rating from more than 1367 Google reviews. Reservations and Directions Yeşilköy Mh. Demiryolu Cd. Which hours are busiest on the eve of Eid al-Adha?
Because the afternoon of the eve is an official half-day, the rush begins after midday and peaks after 18:00. The eve of Eid al-Adha falls on 26 May in 2026 and 15 May in 2027. For a calm table, the breakfast hours (09:00-14:00) are the better choice. For groups of eight or more, joined tables must be arranged in advance. Yeşilköy Mh. Demiryolu Cd.
